A+ Experience
I had never had my car transported before, so I was going into the experience totally 'blind'. Joel was my agent and he took me step by step through the entire process. Every email and question I had was answered very quickly, even 'after hours'. Let me explain to you how it all works. (I might as well pass along what the experience is like.) The agent, in my case, Joel, finds a reputable transport company that can pick up your car on the date range you specify. First you fill out some paperwork via email. Joel told me my car would be picked up on a Sunday or Monday and I'd get a call from the driver in advance. Once the driver is booked by Joel, you pay the agent (Mercury Auto Transport) $175 (via credit card), On Sunday the driver called me to let me know my car would be picked up on Monday morning. Due to snow that day, my car was picked up in the afternoon. (I was not home, so I left my car on the street with the keys in it.) Joel had told me that the delivery date in Florida is not guaranteed to a certain day, but that it takes about 3 or 4 days. Even though I was not present when my car was picked up, a 'bill of landing' was sent me via email. This shows that my car was picked up and that my car did not have any dents/damage. I flew down to Florida the day after my car was picked up, and I rented a car so I could get around until my car arrived from NJ. 4 days later, I received a call from the driver of the transport that he was about 4 hours from my location, and to expect to retrieve my car around 7 or 8pm. Around 6:45pm, the driver called me letting me know he was 20 minutes away. Since I am in a gated community, I had to go to the main road to get my car. The driver and his co-driver were both very nice and efficient. I paid the driver the $625 cash that had been agreed upon when I booked the transport with Joel, the agent. I signed the paperwork with the driver and was given a copy, and went along my merry way. The entire process was easy and went as smoothly as Joel had explained. I will definitely use Joel/Mercury Auto Transport when I need to bring my car back up to NJ after the winter.
