I use AAFES as I am Military, they have all sorts of stores and dealers on there website I use their card Military Star, for credit purchases. I ordered from what they call "The online Exchange Mall". This company, PC Universe, formerly or still "Patriot PC", is one of their vendors. I'm assuming they changed the company name to get better than an "F" rating under the PatriotPC name. So, the derogatory part first; the order was placed on Oct. 21st 2009, for 2 "in stock" items, I waited as one usually does for 3 business days, only to find the order status still processing. I then called Patriot PC, 10/26/2009 to inquire about the order and was told, "it should ship in the next couple days. After that call on the same day(10/26/2009) I received an email, Your order is currently pending approval from the Military Star Card, Typically this process takes anywhere from 1-3 business days. So I immediately emailed them back with, "I am very Disappointed in this order! I would have assumed that the approval would have been the first thing to happen, On the 22nd or the 23rd of October. Your company got great reviews from fellow service members, on processing and shipping, I at this point do not know how that can be. But Whatever, take another 3 days to process and ship, so that I may receive my items.
I then received an email back, " We're incredibly sorry for this delay. Please know, the delay has nothing to do with our company, and we would ship and process your order immediately if it was up to us. Unfortunately, AAFES has instituted a new policy for all merchants who accept the Military Star Card. For all online orders over $250 they require that we send the order details to them, and that they manually confirm the legitimacy of the order and give us approval to process it. So I waited until today the 30th of October and checked the status and its still the same, I then called AAFES directly to confirm if there was such a policy in place, I was informed after a 30 minute call there was no such policy. Even if there were a policy my order was under 150 dollars. There moto on there web site is "Proudly Serving those who serve proudly, I have not seen that! So I would not recommend, nor buy from this company again. Now for the cons, fast email responses, good prices.
