I paid a deposit of $908.00. The owner had me write the check to him as opposed to the company. It was cashed less than 20 minutes later. Kendrick said he would give me credit if I removed the tiles myself. He brought in 6 cases of tile, 17 border tiles, bullnose tile, 3 large bags of mortar. They used approximately 170 tiles at 48cents a piece to do the actual tile. There were 56 tiles in each case.
The actual tile job -- tile is not symmetrical. They left off the border I had picked. I feel I was grossly overcharged for the tile and mortar it took to do the job. They didn't use anything to cover the bathtub surface even though I provided them with a sheet to use. There was construction debris thrown out the back window. My three dogs were shut out back and one of the dogs had grout through her fur. Plastic fork underneath the bathroom window out back. The clean up was ridiculous with grout mix throughout the house. Old sealant was left on underneath the new tile. They didn't finish the caulking/sealing. I was told he likes to use kohler or delta, we agreed on brushed nickel, and I got Moen-not brushed nickel. The old hardware is gone. He said they threw it away and I should have asked to have it back.
Thennnnnn... on the last day of the project, my wallet was stolen from my bedroom drawer. The credit card that was in the wallet was used 15 minutes after they left the jobsite at the gas station on the corner. Surveillance video shows a Burgundy Dodge Durango which is what the crew member was driving. The owner tried to tell me that someone must have got the key, went into my bedroom, found my wallet in my drawer, put the key back in place, and then waited 2 hours to use it. The time which coincided with his crew being done with the job.
I got no apologies, nothing to try to fix it to make it right. The owner of the company didn't care. So now I have this hanging over my head.
