My premium was due on Dec 1, 2010 but the problem was I never received a statement from anthem and being unemployed someone told me about a program so on Nov 26, 2010 having not received a statement I wrote a letter cancelling as of 12/1/2010 and requested a termination notice which the program needed. I ended up in ER via ambulance on 1/5/2011! anthem decided to send me the termination notice on 1/9/2011 (yes a Sunday) but I didn't receive it un 1/19/2011! According to the state health insurance commissioner office - it's ok for anthem not to send statements to the consumers! Plus not to be responsible! If I as a consumer "forgot" to send a payment well.... I would be cancelled in a second!
