We had a pipe burst and it flooded our first floor. This was the only business we could find to come out on short notice. We were delighted to have such a quick response. But we were also troubled when we found out we had to do all the labor ourselves. The owner wanted me to find my own helpers to do the work. We had to vacuum all the water up and remove the carpet ourselves. The owner just stood around and told us what to do. Then he quoted a high price to let us use his industrial fans. We decided we weren't comfortable using any more of his services. We gave him a check for $214. It seemed like we must have been paying for rental of his equipment, because we certainly couldn't have been paying for labor since we did all of our own labor. He told me he would give me a receipt for the $214 but he left without giving us one. It seemed like he wasn't happy that we weren't going to use him for any other services. The next morning he called sometime after 8 a.m. and asked if I could get some more people together (another "team")to help him do another job. I refused and felt disturbed by his request. I thought if he was a reputable business he would have had his own team to help him. Overall, we were at least thankful to have used his equipment to get the soaked carpet out of the house.
