I was searching for a better health plan than I now have and was contacted by this company within 1/2 hr. of visiting various health insurance websites. The sales rep. named Tori, advised me this is not an insurance plan but a discount savings plan that would cost me $149.95 per month for a family. She advised that the savings to me for using in network doctors averages 80% (yet the handbook on their website states the savings would be "at least 30%"). She also said the savings on hospital charges average 68% (yet the handbook indicates if your charges are over $1000, they will assign you a negotiatior to help with reducing the charges.) Nothing was mentioned about the % of money saved. Then she advised that if we were not able to pay for the medical bill as a result of a hospital stay, they have a program where they would "get the bill taken care of" by obtaining grant money to pay it for us if our income was less than $50,000, and, this would not have to be paid back. I checked the website thoroughly to see this claim in writing but could not find it. I called Tori back about it and was told not everything is on the website and she has no control over what it shows and put me on the phone with her manager, Chris, who said that info is not shown because The Karis Group(the negotiation service) takes care of that for them. I told him that as a potential new customer, I am used to seeing things in writing before I jump into something, but he advised if I enrolled, I would obtain more info on it. He then rushed me off the phone saying that apparently "this wasn't a good fit for me". Everyone --- be careful. I am a property & casualty insurance agent and if a client says to me "is this covered", I show them the area in the policy where there is or is not coverage. In this day and age, you cannot believe everything you are told! If they truly wanted to write my business and believed in their product, then they would have taken the time and effort to "calm my fears".
