Review 12/8/2008

I work for a legitimate non profit HUD approved counseling agency. I counseled a family who were offered supposed help from Fed Loan Modification. The family had fallen past due with their mortgage and their mortgage company offered a loan modification to help out. Federal Loan Modification advised them not to sign it, and charged them nearly $3000 stating they would negotiate a "better" deal. Now the offer from their mortgage company expired and the foreclosure has been filed. The home is scheduled for sale on March 10 2008. We are in the process of trying to help save the home but it may now be too late.
