Review 3/9/2011
After hearing all the ads about how low their auto insurance rates were on the radio, I decided to try FREEWAY INSURANCE out when I purchased my new car back in Nov of 2010. Unfortunately, my husband got a DUI on new year's eve and in order for Dmv to issue him a restricted license, they wanted an SR22. So, we went in last month to Freeway to get the SR22 and we were told to pay $50 for it. So not thinking otherwise, we thought it was just to add the SR22, so we paid the $50. After the SR22, he still wasn't issued a restricted license from DMV, but we still kept him on the policy (altho he's not driving at all). So today(3/9/11), we went in to add our son and a 3rd car onto our policy as well as take my husband off and we were told that since my hubby was the policy holder, they'll have to issue a new policy under my name; therefore, we'd have to pay another $250 for the broker fee!!! We said, ok, fine then.. we'll leave my hubby on the policy and just add our son and the 3rd car... then we were told, if that's the case, we'll still have to pay an additional BROKER FEE of $50 just for the transaction ON TOP of an addt'l $100+ for our son to be added on too. We later learned that the $50 we paid for my hubby's SR22 was a transaction charge too!! OMG! This is just outrageous!!! It's a LOSE LOSE situation for me as a customer!! I've had insurance for over 20+ yrs with different brokers/insurance companies and I've NEVER seen these kind of outrageous charges, even just to add a family member or a car!!! I can understand paying a larger INSURANCE premium for coverage based on a driver's record, but this isn't the case here(I have a good driving history and my hubby only has the DUI)... but it's the excessive BROKER FEE charges or simply put -- the transaction charges that is an arm and a leg!!! They charge you a fee for every little transaction!

PLEASE, someone look into these excessive and undue charges and take this company down... this is just another Enron...

Thanks,

T from Sacramento, CA
