I called the company for a estimate to clean my 6 foot sofa. The person I spoke with didn't ask me any questions pertaining to the couch, such as fabric, number of cushions, etc. Their so-called 'estimate' was approximately $70.00 although the technician would give me a detailed cost prior to performing the work. I took the morning off work to meet the technician, who was 30 minutes late to the appointment. Two men showed up, one clearly was a trainee. They moved my couch outside onto my porch and then I was told the cost would be 'slightly' higher than the telephone estimate. When I asked what 'slightly' higher meant I was shocked when I was told the cost would be $380.00! The technician justified the cost increase based on the fabric and the number of pillows/cushions. I was in a uncomfortable position having taken the morning off work and the fact that my sofa was now outside. So I went ahead with the work. It took approx. 1 hr and 45 minutes to complete. That translates into a very expensive hourly rate for a trainee and a technician. It seems to me that the business is misleading their customers....using the 'bait and switch' routine.
