SCAM OF A COMPANY:
I have personally received a home inspection report from this company and have since read almost 100 of their other home inspection reports in speaking to other dissatisfied customers. I will say that I had damages that occurred quickly after move in and were several hundreds of thousands of dollars. It has also been years because they lie...lie..beg...lie...blame...lie...beg...lie to court and you have to counter with a motion all the time....
This is truly a horrible company and I urge you to have your attorney read their new home inspection contract because it is saying whatever you do, tough luck to you. I have never seen anything like it and I assure you when I am finish, this will not be the type of contract allowed. For now however, I have studied many of larocca's lawsuits - yes there are several, If they do wrong they will first ignore, then demand, the start the tirade of psychopathic motions. They will prey you give up or that they have shamed you into exhaustion or exhausted all your money...then they will let you drop the case and demand legal fees. If you are in it and can, STAY IN...I have never seen anything like this in my life....They are not all licensed contractors as they have often claimed and they do not carry E & O insurance on the jobs, lazy yes. Crazy yes. Advertising and consumer fraud....Absolutely. Their key attorney claims he's a genius but he works out of a cubicle in their office and is the stereotype of all corrupt attorneys you have ever seen.
I will be working with the governor of California to help regulate the home inspection company and actively shut down this company and insure that their attorney a man named Pyfrom gets a full seat for evaluations with The California State Bar, whom I have spoken to at length throughout Nov & Dec 2009 and again in Jan 20102 and they seem eager to receive my documents and complaint.
I do not know who you should use for inspections. I would say get recommendations from your agents first, ask for people to call who have used a company, let an attorney look at the contract, if it reads like Laroccas November 2009 one does - RUN.... (and thank me because we certainly caused the change) also check out all legal claims of being licensed contractors first and also demand to see their insurance policy. Ask about litigation. Have they ever been in any, has the inspector ever had to testify, ask if the had to go to binding arbirtration or arbitration in general. Ask who they used, what company (they had an issue with using one company and judges not disclosing their history with larocca........ Ask to see all ahead of time, several days or weeks before the inspection, and then start looking up online. If the don't cooperate, as I suspect Larocca wont....move on.
You deserve to have a true home inspection. Many of these companies are really just scams, certainly willing to take your money and move on. Find one that has great great references from home owners who had an inspection go wrong...Find one a neighbor, friend, family used, find someone who had a lot of money and used an inspector company....
Becareful. Do not use Larocca,. They really will screw you over terribly if they can and even take some pleasure in it. I assure you of that. We fortunately have found strength , resilience an all other matters to keep us fighting. Just knowing one day we might save another from our pain would be worth ever penny & effort.
