Review 9/6/2011
I had a very negative experience with this company. This review is too warn others of their practices so, you will not end up like many that have posted reviews. I can say that in the future I will be more diligent with checking out companies before giving away my hard earned money. I wish to mention what I consider unfair practices: - I had a written, signed contract by an employee that, was not accepted by the employer. What??? A contract is a legal agreement. The manager stated that the employee did not charge me what he told him too, therefore I had to pay for his mistake. Why does one allow employees to write contracts if they are not responsible for honoring them? - I was told, that my property was weighed and it never was weighed. I asked for the weigh station slips and never received them. I was told by the packers that they had strict DOT standards to adhere to. The manager continued to guess at the weight. We asked to pay by weight from the beginning and the manager kept trying to go by cubic feet before delivery. They charged us for an extra 3000lbs however, noting was ever weighed! I do not understand the problem with the weighing unless they were doing something that was illegal. The books concerning the DOT standards that clients are to receive and read before the move never surfaced. -We never ever had anyone come to the residence to do a formal estimate. They use as an excuse the fact that they estimated by the information received from the client. This is bull-crap as they do not know the weight of a clients property without an inspection. Reputable companies always send out a representative to view the property in question! - I was told by the packers that they only use company personnel to deliver the personal property. This is a bald-faced lie. The delivery driver that was used hired people from Labor-Ready and he stated that he is not employed by Move-On-Van-Lines! These are just people off the street looking for work!!! - We were charged for boxes, blankets, and other supplies they had to use, however they had to take all the blankets back. Why? I paid for them.... - The manager tried to take our property hostage by saying we need to have cash money for the delivery person upon delivery before they move anything from the truck! We told them the extra money they wanted at the last moment was not in the contract and they can put it in storage until we contact a lawyer. OMG!!! He started screaming at me! Who does this??? - The driver presented us with a contract from the company that had been marked through and changed and scratched out! We made a copy for legal purposes.... This is not even half of our complaints against them..... I can only say this company represents itself as something it is not!!! Run as far as you can from them..... By the way, the actual movers of the furniture were awesome! They did a great job.....
