I was contacted by Danielle Montesanto to do a mortgage loan signing for $275. The Borrowers (BO) refused to sign because the loan papers were improperly prepared. They had to re-do the loan papers 3 times and therefore this meant 3 separate notaries. They offered me $25 and asked me to amend my invoice. I printed out in excess of 126 pages, drove 71 miles RT, wasted 4 hours of my evening, and for this they want to pay me $25? Then they asked me to contact the BO myself if I wanted to get paid for this job. The #1 Notary Rule of What Never To Do!
I write this formal complaint so others (BOs and notaries alike) are not misled by their fraudulent and dishonest way of doing business. They also failed to provide the proper document for Frederick County, but instead included the document for Prince Georges County. Frederick County will ONLY accept THEIR SPECIFIC Refinance Affidavit and no others. New World Mortgage said I was negligent in not wanting to notarize the incorrect document. But what did it matter anyhow, when New World Mortgage had incorrect figures on the HUD, and not the proper BO's names.
Notary/Borrowers BEWARE - of the actions of this lender.
