We hired Westpoint Relocation to move a partial container full of household goods from Colorado to Hawaii in December 2008. On the day of our move (12/10/08) , a truck from a local moving company showed up at our house to pick up our goods because Westpoint's truck could not get there on the day of our move. This was totally unexpected and Westpoint did not communicate to us that this would happen. After communicating with Westpoint as the local movers waited, we allowed the local company to take our boxes and furniture for storage until Westpoint could make the pickup. We stayed in phone contact with Westpoint and were told a few days later that they had picked up our goods and they were on their way to CA where they would be transferred to a shipping container for the sea portion of the move. For the next two months we called Westpoint regularly to enquire as to the status of our shipment. We always got information that our goods were in transit someplace. Finally, we were told the goods had arrived on Oahu, and would be placed on a barge to Maui at the beginning of February. A couple of days after this conversation, we were told that they had made a mistake and our goods had been found in CA in their warehouse and they had just put them on a ship! At this point we did our own research and discovered that our goods had NEVER been picked up from the local company in CO! We had our daughter verify that the goods were truly still in CO and then set about firing Westpoint and arranging to ship the goods another way. We were lied to by various members of the company throughout the two months when our goods had never left Denver. To their credit, Westpoint eventually refunded all of our money and also paid off the local moving company. However, I believe it was only our tenacity that led to the refund. I would not recommend using this company. As an aside, the second company we chose to move our goods took one day less than two weeks to pick up our goods, ship them by rail to CA, put them on a cargo ship to HI and deliver the shipping container to our new house.
