International Card Services ICS is ripoff
|
I am a psychotherapist in private practice, and applied to ICS so I could accommodate some of my patients desires to pay with credit cards attached to medical flex spending accounts. Mr. Bryan Pelto took my application over the phone...I made it clear
that the number of patients using credit cards was small....Mr. Pelto emailed me forms to sign on I Payment quick commerce application. It documented that I would be paying only $7.95 per month as a gateway fee, and that there would be a percentage taken out
of each payment made by credit card to me. No mention of a discount fee was explained to me. I inquired if there were other hidden or attached costs and he said no. I noticed the charges on my first full months billings and I was being hit with a $25.00 discount
fee because I did not have enough charges, plus a $14.95 a month fee from International Card Services (almost double the $7.95 I was promised in writing, and of course they took their percentage out of each one of the credit card payments I received from my
patients. Also customer service was very poor, during my conversation and sign up with Mr. Pelto I made it clear I had no way to use a the devices hooked to phone lines and merely wanted to access services through a virtual site on the internet, and yet ICS
still sent me a terminal which I had to return at my expense. When I called to terminate I was informed I had to fill out their form and that there would be a $350.00 termination fee. When I asked them to send me a copy of the document which they said I signed...they
emailed me a document that said it was a draft...and I had not signed. I truly believe I never saw anything like the draft document that was emailed to me at my request...as Mr. Pelto took down my information on the phone...I only have record of one document
that I signed and faxed back to him. ICS is a rip-off. I checked the internet later and found many similar complaints. I am really saddened to find that they are in some way affiliated with Wells Fargo Bank. I would love to take them to small claims court,
but as I sole proprietor I can not afford to lose the time and related income taking off work to fight for my $350.00. It is unfortunate that there are companies like this whose services are so poor or expensive that they lay in wait with predatory motives
hoping to take advantage of unsuspecting businesses.
